The oldest statistics periodical still published. The annals collect papers on various topics since 1871, making it possible to reconstruct the history of official statistics and get to know the scientific and human profiles of many of those who founded it and made it grow. It contains reports, proceedings of seminars and conferences, institutional and international reflections, reports of commissions, essays, and statistical analyses, offering a picture of the country’s evolution from the first decades of nation-building to the present day, passing through periods of crisis, wartime events, and phases of reconstruction, with a careful look at history, science, but also at everyday life. Over the years, the series have changed with the succession of presidencies.
